Looking ahead, together

What is
longevity care?

Longevity care focuses on helping you maintain your health, function, and quality of life as you age. It brings your current concerns and future goals into the same conversation.

That might mean exploring a family history of heart disease, understanding changes in your energy or body composition, or deciding which health habits deserve your attention first.

The goal is to turn questions about your health into clear, practical next steps, with recommendations that fit your medical history, priorities, and everyday life.

Understanding healthy aging

Healthspan vs. lifespan

Living longer and living well are closely connected goals. Understanding the difference helps make longevity care more personal.

Lifespan: how long you live

Lifespan describes the total length of your life. It measures years, without describing your health or ability to do the things you enjoy during those years.

Healthspan: years in good health

Healthspan describes the portion of life spent in good health. In everyday terms, that can mean maintaining mobility, managing health risks, and preserving the ability to participate in activities that matter to you.

For you, the goal might be hiking with friends, carrying groceries comfortably, or keeping up with your grandchildren. Naming those goals gives your care plan a practical direction. Longevity care aims to support that future without promising a particular lifespan or outcome.

Rooted in the whole person

A thoughtful approach
to healthy aging

Your health is personal. Your care should account for your symptoms, history, resources, and values.

We take time to understand what matters to you and involve you in decisions about your care. Together, we consider where lifestyle changes, further evaluation, or medical treatment may be appropriate.

Our approach draws on the 7 Pillars of Health. These foundations help shape a plan you can carry into daily life.

  • Exercise
  • Diet
  • Sleep
  • Stress
  • Social connection
  • Sunlight
  • Spirit

Care designed around your goals

What can longevity care address?

Your priorities guide the conversation. Depending on your needs, areas of focus may include:

Heart and metabolic health

Understanding cardiovascular and metabolic risk can be an important part of planning for the future. Your provider can help you consider your history and whether further evaluation is appropriate.

For selected patients, Gillett Health also offers access to CCTA with Cleerly plaque analysis. Imaging takes place at an outside facility, with consultation and analysis arranged through our service.

Hormones and changes in how you feel

Changes in energy, body composition, or overall well-being deserve a conversation. We consider hormone health within the broader picture of your symptoms and medical history, with evaluation and treatment recommendations individualized to you.

Nutrition and body composition

Your nutrition needs should reflect your health, activity, and goals. Our registered dietitians offer personalized support for concerns including weight management, metabolic health, nutrient intake, and performance.

Dietitian services can help translate recommendations into practical food choices and routines.

Lifestyle and long-term well-being

A plan needs to work outside the appointment. We help you think through daily habits, competing demands, and achievable changes so that your next steps feel manageable.

How testing informs
your care

A result is most useful when it helps answer a meaningful question about your health.

Testing is one part of the picture. Your symptoms, family history, medications, daily habits, and goals help give the numbers context.

Start with a question

What are you hoping to understand? A change in energy, a family history of disease, or a concern about metabolic health may lead to different evaluations. Your provider considers existing records before recommending additional testing.

Understand what results can tell you

Depending on the test, results may help assess a risk factor, investigate a symptom, or monitor an existing condition. A single result does not explain every symptom or predict exactly how you will age. Some findings need confirmation or further evaluation.

Connect findings to next steps

The next step might involve lifestyle changes, a treatment discussion, follow-up testing, or a referral. Ask what a proposed test could change about your care, what its limitations are, and what it will cost. The right approach is individualized rather than a fixed panel for every patient.

Questions about
longevity care

Do I need to have a health concern to schedule an appointment?

You can seek longevity care to discuss prevention and future goals, as well as current concerns. An appointment can help you identify what you want to understand and where to begin.

Is longevity care a separate membership?

No. At Gillett Health, longevity care is available through Concierge Medicine, Individualized Medicine, and à la carte consultations. The level of access and ongoing support depends on the option you choose.

Does everyone need the same tests?

Testing recommendations are individualized. Your provider considers your history, concerns, and existing results when deciding whether additional testing would be useful.

Can I start with one appointment?

Yes. An à la carte consultation offers a way to discuss your goals without enrolling in a membership. If you want ongoing treatment or follow-up support, our team can explain the membership options.

Why do strength and fitness matter for healthy aging?

Physical activity supports the ability to stay active and independent as you age. Strength exercises help maintain muscles used for everyday tasks, endurance activities support stamina, and balance exercises can help reduce the risk of falls in older adults.

A useful starting point is activity that fits your current abilities and can become part of your routine. Discuss limitations, symptoms, or existing conditions with your provider when planning changes.

How does longevity care fit with routine preventive care?

Longevity care should complement recommended preventive care. Blood pressure checks, appropriate cancer screenings, and other routine services remain important, even when you feel well or are pursuing advanced testing.

Screening recommendations depend on factors such as age, medical history, family history, and individual risk. Review what is due with your primary care clinician and coordinate any specialist recommendations. Advanced testing does not automatically replace standard screening.

How much does longevity care cost?

Pricing depends on your provider and care option. Our team can explain appointment or membership fees and any recommended services that carry additional costs.
